PERM Labor Certification

PERM Labor Certification is the process by which foreign workers are granted a green card through a sponsorship procedure that can take anywhere from months to years. PERM itself stands for Program Electronic Review Management and is managed by the United States Department of Labor, as well as assistance from the Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). PERM Labor Certification Regulations are enshrined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) in Part 656. Basically, an Employer (Petitioner) must prove the Labor certification is a process of proving that there are no qualified US workers for the position being offered.  This is done by the Employer and Dept of Labor first.
